REBEL MOVES: Whip It! + Roller Disco

As part of Rebel Moves, Bath Film Festival's celebration of young people in sport who challenge expectations, join us for an evening of film, roller derby and plenty of attitude.

The evening begins with a live demonstration and introduction from Bath Roller Derby, offering an insight into one of the UK's fastest-growing and most welcoming sports. And a short film will allow you to discover the athleticism, teamwork and community behind roller derby in the UK.

Then it's time for Whip It!, Drew Barrymore's exhilarating coming-of-age comedy starring Elliot Page as Bliss Cavendar, a teenager who swaps beauty pageants for roller derby and discovers a world where strength, individuality and rebellion are celebrated. Funny, fearless and packed with energy, Whip It! has become a cult favourite for good reason.

And the night doesn't end when the credits roll. Add a ticket for our roller disco and take to the floor yourself, with music, skating and plenty of Rebel Moves spirit to round off the evening.

This event forms part of BFI's Rip It Up season, celebrating the changing face of youth rebellion, culture and expression on screen across the UK.

After the screening Bath Roller Derby will host our very own Roller Disco - a chance to get your groove on to their specially curated playlist and expect a few derby inspired games!
