EXPLORE BIG BRUE FESTIVAL

What would it take to bring nature back across Britain’s farms, rivers and rural landscapes, and who gets to decide what that recovery should look like?

Environmentalist and rewilding advocate Ben Goldsmith joins Westcombe Dairy farmer and cheesemaker Tom Calver to explore whether restoring the natural world can go hand in hand with producing food, supporting rural livelihoods and maintaining the communities that have shaped the land for generations.

Beginning with the changes and experiments taking place here in Somerset, they will consider not only the ecological promise of rewilding and regenerative farming, but the difficult practical questions that accompany them. Can nature recovery be financially sustainable? How should farmers and local communities be involved? And can Somerset help demonstrate a future in which productive land also becomes richer, wilder and more abundant?
