Bath Young Musician of the Year

"This music is empowerment. We want more of it," said the Mayor of Bath, to a packed audience in the Guildhall who were attending Bath Young Musician of the Year.

This is one of the Mid-Somerset Festival’s most prestigious events, where five highly talented performers, all of whom gained outstanding marks in the March festival, compete for the title and the Festival takes great pride in knowing that many competitors over the years have gone on to enjoy successful musical careers.

The five young performers taking part are: 

Jay Finer: cello,
Arbel Rix: cello,
Lisa Wang: piano,
Jacob Wells-Luttrell: guitar,
Matthew Wise: saxophone
