Aidan O’ Rourke, fiddle

Brighde Chaimbeul won the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award at 17, more recently releasing her second album (Carry Them With Us), featuring saxophonist Colin Stetson (composer, Texas Chainsaw Massacre,  Arcade Fire), and played Glastonbury with Caroline Polachek after featuring on her recent track Blood and Butter. 

She performs here with long term collaborator Aidan O’ Rourke (member of folk band Lau) alongside a film by John Smith and Johnny Ashworth that speaks of  the landscape and communities of Skye and their mark on the land. These two spectacular musicians breathe new ethereal life into their traditions.
